- Father Charles Kane was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on at least three occasions from approximately 1973 to 1974 when the male child was approximately eleven to twelve years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Kane was assigned to St. Mary’s Church in Billerica, Massachusetts, and the male child was a parishioner and an altar boy at the church. The sexual abuse by Father Kane took place inside St. Mary’s Church and in the nearby rectory affiliated with the church.
- The sexual abuse by Father Kane included the following: Father Kane fondled the boy’s genitals, skin-on-skin, and fondled the boy’s buttocks, skin-on-skin.
- The claim settled in February 2020 in the high five figures.
