At the time of the sexual abuse, Father McBarron was assigned to St. Mary’s Church in Newark, New Jersey.
  • The sexual abuse by Father McBarron included the following: Father McBarron fondling the girl’s breasts over her clothing, Father McBarron exposing his genitals to the girl and having the girl fondle his genitals skin on skin, and Father McBarron forcing the girl to perform oral sex on him until he ejaculated.
  • The Archdiocese of Newark agreed to settle the claim in the low to mid six figures in 2021.
