  • Father Patrick M. Gallagher, O.F.M.Conv. was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child in approximately 1984 when the child was approximately 12 years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Gallagher was assigned to St. Francis Church, Hoboken, NJ, and the male child belonged to the parish where he was an altar server. The sexual abuse occurred in the rectory of the church.
  • The sexual abuse by Father Gallagher included the following: Father Gallagher pressing his erect penis against the male child’s buttocks and penetrating the male child’s anus; and Father Gallagher touching the male child’s buttocks and genitals with Father Gallagher’s hands.
  • The claim settled in 2025 in the mid six figures.
