Summary:
- Father William J. Scanlan was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on at least 10 occasions from approximately 1985 when the boy was approximately 15 years old until approximately 1986 when the boy was approximately 16 years old. The sexual abuse occurred in the Pilgrim Center in Braintree, Massachusetts. During the sexual abuse, Father Scanlan was assigned to or affiliated with the Pilgrim Center while the boy was placed there.
- The sexual abuse by Father Scanlan consisted of Father Scanlan folding the boy’s penis and testicles skin on skin, Father Scanlan performing oral sex on the boy, and Father Scanlan having the boy perform oral sex on Father Scanlan.
- The claim settled in 2025 in the five figures.
