Summary:
  • Father Kenneth Bonadies was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on over 100 occasions from approximately 1981 to 1985 when the boy was approximately 14 to 17 years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Bonadies was assigned to St. Bartholomew’s Church in Manchester, Connecticut, and East Catholic High School in Manchester. The sexual abuse took place in the rectory affiliated with St. Bartholomew’s Church; in Father Bonadies’ car; at East Catholic High School; and at a house in Eastford, Connecticut.
  • The sexual abuse by Father Bonadies included the following: Father Bonadies fondled the boy’s penis and testicles; Father Bonadies made the boy fondle Father Bonadies’ penis and testicles; Father Bonadies performed oral sex on the boy; and Father Bonadies made the boy perform oral sex on Father Bonadies.
  • The claim settled in 2021 in the low six figures.
