At the time of the sexual abuse, Monsignor Heide was assigned to St. Joseph’s Church in New York, New York, and the boy was an altar boy at the church and a student at the parochial school affiliated with the church. The sexual abuse took place in the sacristy inside St. Joseph’s Church and inside St. Joseph’s School.
  • The sexual abuse by Monsignor Heide included the following: Monsignor Heide smacked the boy’s bare buttocks with a paddle; Monsignor Heide fondled the boy’s genitals, skin-on-skin; and Monsignor Heide sodomized the boy.
