  • Father Thomas Bender was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on at least three occasions from approximately 1966 to 1967 when the male child was approximately fourteen to fifteen years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Bender was assigned to Nativity High School in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and the male child was a student at the school. The sexual abuse took place in locations including the boy’s family home in Pottsville.
  • The sexual abuse by Father Bender included the following: Father Bender fondled the boy’s penis and testicles over the boy’s clothing.
  • The claim settled in April 2020 in the low six figures.

  • Monsignor Charles Beausang was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on one occasion in approximately 1950 when the boy was approximately nine years old. At the time of the claimed sexual abuse, Monsignor Beausang was assigned to Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
  • The sexual abuse by Monsignor Beausang took place inside Our Lady Star of the Sea School, where the male child was a student. Monsignor Beausang told the boy to expose the boy’s penis to Monsignor Beausang and to masturbate in front of the boy. Monsignor Beausang began to unfasten the boy’s belt buckle, and then the boy ran away.
  • The claim settled in 2020 in the four figures.

During the sexual abuse, Father Boisvert was assigned to St. Anthony of Padua Church in New Bedford, MA, and the boy belonged to the parish. The sexual abuse took place inside the sacristy of St. Anthony of Padua Church in New Bedford, MA, and inside the sacristy of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in New Bedford, MA.
  • The sexual abuse by Father Boisvert included the following: Father Boisvert fondling the boy’s penis and testicles, both over the clothes and skin on skin; Father Boisvert forcing the boy to masturbate Father Boisvert’s penis; Father Boisvert rubbing his penis against the boy’s face; and Father Boisvert sodomizing the boy.
