  • Father Herr died in 2007.
  • Father Charles Herr was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on at least 100 occasions from approximately 1971 to 1978 when the male child was approximately ten to seventeen years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Herr was assigned to Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Hoboken, New Jersey, and the male child was a parishioner of the church. The sexual abuse took place in locations including the rectory near Ss. Peter and Paul Church and in an apartment building in Hoboken.
  • The sexual abuse by Father Herr included the following: Father Herr repeatedly kissed the boy on the lips, fondled the boy’s penis and testicles, skin-on-skin, and performed oral sex on the boy.
  • The claim settled in February 2020 in the low six figures.

  • Father Donald Hickey was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on at least two occasions in approximately 1975 when the male child was approximately nine years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Hickey was assigned to Nativity Church in Fair Haven, New Jersey, and the male child was a parishioner of the church and attended CCD classes through the church.
  • The sexual abuse by Father Hickey included the following: Father Hickey fondled the boy’s penis and testicles, skin-on-skin. Father Hickey forced the boy to perform oral sex on Father Hickey. On at least one occasion, Father Hickey sodomized the boy.
  • The claim settled in December 2019 in the low six figures.
