  • Father Joseph McHugh was accused of sexually abusing a female minor child on at least ten occasions from approximately 1974 to 1975 when the female child was approximately six to seven years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father McHugh was assigned to Our Lady of Perpetual Church in Maple Shade, New Jersey, and the female child was a parishioner of the church and a student at the parochial school affiliated with the church. The sexual abuse took place at the girl’s family home in Maple Shade.
  • The sexual abuse by Father McHugh included the following: Father McHugh fondled the girl’s chest, buttocks and genitals over the girl’s clothing.
  • The claim settled in February 2020 in the low five figures.

  • Father Francis G. McInerney was accused of sexually abusing two female minor children; one girl was sexually abused by Father McInerney on one occasion in approximately 1948 when the girl was approximately fourteen years old; another girl was sexually abused in approximately 1948 when the girl was approximately nine years old. At the time of the sexual sexual abuse, Father McInerney was assigned to St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Wilmington, Massachusetts. One girl was sexually abused in the sun room just outside the rectory of St. Thomas of Villanova Church and the other girl was sexually abused in the vestibule of St. Thomas of Villanova Church.
  • The sexual abuse by Father McInerney included the following: Father McInerney fondled one girl’s breasts over her clothes and the other girl was digitally penetrated by Father
    McInerney.
  • Both claims settled in June 2023 in the mid-to-high five figures.

  • Father Thomas McKenna was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on at least ten occasions from approximately 1979 to 1981 when the male child was approximately thirteen to fifteen years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father McKenna was assigned to St. Kieran’s Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the boy served as an altar boy at the church.
  • The sexual abuse by Father McKenna included the following: Father McKenna reached into the front of the boy’s pants and underwear and grabbed and fondled the boy’s penis and testicles, skin-on-skin. Father McKenna also fondled the boy’s buttocks, skin-on-skin. Father McKenna sometimes forced the boy to fondle Father McKenna’s genitals.
